Eligibility

Arizona AFP is a rigorous program in Arabic language and culture designed to help students develop Superior language skills while pursuing an academic degree program of their choice. The program is for students who have commitment, ambition and intellectual promise.

The selection process for Arizona AFP is competitive. Selected students will be eligible for merit-based scholarships, specialized study opportunities domestically and overseas, as well as extra academic support.

Eligibility

All CASA applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents.
For CASA I, non-U.S. citizens may apply as a Pay-Your-Own-Way participant.

Apply to Jumpstart

The Jumpstart Program offers two exciting Arabic immersion tracks for incoming freshman and high school students.

Track 1: Jumpstart to Flagship 

Eligibility 

Current high school seniors joining the University of Arizona as freshmen in Fall 2022 who plan to join the prestigious Arizona Arabic Flagship Program. Applicants pursuing any major qualify for this track and can benefit from study abroad and funding opportunities in the Flagship Program. Funding

This track offers full funding for Summer Session I and/or Session II (tuition, fees, tutoring, college mentoring and advising and cultural activities) plus a stipend to offset cost of books, housing and travel.

NEW FUNDING: Jumpstart students continuing on to the Flagship Program in the Fall and Spring will also be eligible to receive a scholarship up to $2500 for the academic year. 

Track 2: Jumpstart to College 

Eligibility

Rising high school juniors and seniors from anywhere in the U.S. who are motivated to:

  1. Receive college credit
  2. Get exposure to college life
  3. Pursue advanced Arabic

Funding

Offers large tuition reduction. Cultural activities and events will be covered by the program along with tutoring, college mentoring and advising. Remaining tuition/fees expenses after reduction are close to $600 per session. Applicants interested in scholarships to cover fully or partially the remaining $600 per session may apply for funding while completing the application form.
