Jonah Phillips
An international relations major at BYU, I started studying Arabic to fulfill a major requirement, but developed a deep love for the language after studying abroad in Jordan and working with Iraqi refugees in San Diego. While in Jordan and San Diego I fell in love with learning new dialects and getting to know people from across the Arab world, so I couldn't pass up an opportunity to spend a year in Morocco learning another dialect and immersing myself in another Arab culture. Using the linguistic skills and cultural knowledge I am gaining through the capstone; I hope to pursue postgraduate studies with the goal of working in Middle Eastern politics.
