Alexandra Fowler

My name is Alexandra Fowler, and I am a student at the University of Texas at Austin. I majored in international relations and global studies, economics, and Middle Eastern languages and cultures, and minored in government, and philosophy. I started studying Arabic because I have always loved languages, and I had an interest in Middle Eastern politics and affairs. I am now in my fifth year of studying Arabic, and I never imagined I would live in Morocco for a year to continue my studies but here I am! The Flagship Program has allowed me to finally travel to the region and learn more about the culture and the people, in addition to just the language. Flagship has also given me a community of other students with a similar passion for the language, and I feel so lucky to be taking part in this program amongst my amazing peers.
