Abdessamad M'Barki
Abdessamad M’barki is a Lecturer of Arabic and the Assistant to the Flagship Program Director at the University of Arizona. He received his Ph.D. in Comparative and Applied Linguistics from the University of Mohamed V in Rabat and holds a master’s in Arabic and Linguistic Theories. Dr. M’barki has over 9 years of experience teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language and was the Academic Coordinator for the 2019 and 2020 Arabic Summer Program at the University of Arizona. He was previously the Co-Academic Coordinator for the Arabic Flagship Program in Morocco, overseeing curriculum development, program administration, and teacher training. Before that, he was an Arabic Professor at the Arab-American Language Institute in Morocco and taught with the Arabic Flagship Program and CLS. Dr. M’barki was also a visiting instructor of Arabic at the University of Arizona in 2014. In addition to this, Dr. M'barki recently developed two online Moroccan Arabic courses with the University of Hawaii and is a certified ACTFL OPI tester for Arabic. His interests include applied linguistics, cognitive linguistics, second language acquisition, phonology, morphology, literature, and online learning.
